Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademis Skoler for Arkitektur, Design og Konservering.

Det er navnet på Danmarks nye kreative, videregående uddannelsesinstitution. Fusionen mellem Kunstakademiets Arkitektskole og Danmarks Designskole har været forberedt hen over de seneste år, og fra primo 2011 er Kunstakademiets Konservatorskole kommet med i fusionsarbejdet.

Bredt forlig bag uddannelsesaftale

Torsdag den 26. maj 2011 var dagen, hvor Folketinget endeligt kunne vedtage loven om fusionen mellem Kunstakademiets Arkitektskole, Danmarks Designskole og Kunstakademiets Konservatorskole til ikrafttrædelse efter den sidste lovbehandling.

Fusionen udspringer af en større uddannelsesaftale for Kulturministeriets videregående uddannelsesinstitutioner, der skal sikre stabile rammer og bæredygtige miljøer til at fortsætte udviklingen af uddannelsestilbud, forskning og udviklingsvirksomhed, der kan måles efter internationale standarder.

Uddannelser i design, arkitektur og konservering

Den nye fusionerede institution vil fortsat udbyde både arkitekt-, konservering- designuddannelse og skal ledes af en bestyrelse, der ansætter skolens rektor.

Opgaven for den nye institution: Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademis Skoler for Arkitektur, Design og Konservering har som højere uddannelsesinstitution til opgave på kunstnerisk og videnskabeligt grundlag at give uddannelse i arkitektur, design, kunsthåndværk, konservering og restaurering indtil det højeste niveau samt at udøve kunstnerisk udviklingsvirksomhed og på videnskabeligt grundlag at drive forskning inden for arkitektur, design, kunsthåndværk, konservering og restaurering.

Tre rektorer i én daglig ledelse

Indtil der bliver ansat en rektor for den fusionerede institution, udgøres den daglige ledelse af de tre rektorer i fællesskab.

”Vi er frem til fusionen med stor glæde og forventning. Vores rolle har været at lede skolerne støt hen til fusionen, og nu ser vi frem til at få nedsat en bestyrelse, der kan være med til at tegne rammerne for vores nye fælles institution”, siger skolernes nuværende rektorer: Anne-Louise Sommer (Designskolen), René Larsen (Konservatorskolen) og Sven Felding (Arkitektskolen).

The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation. This is the name of Denmark’s new creative institution of higher education. The merger between the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture and the Danish Design School has been planned over a number of years, and as of early 2011, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Conservation has joined the merger project. Wide political compromise educational programme agreement On Thursday 26 May 2011, the Danish parliament, Folketinget, approved the Act on Merger of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, the Danish Design School and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Conservation, which will enter into force after its final reading. The merger is the result of an extensive agreement for the Ministry of Culture’s institutions of higher education, which is to ensure stable frameworks and sustainable environments for continuing the development of educational offers, research and development work that can be ranked according to international standards. Educational programmes in design, architecture and conservation The new merged institution will continue to offer educational programmes in architecture, conservation and design, and it will be managed by a Board, which will hire the school’s rector The objective of the new institution: The objective of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation as an institution of higher education is to provide education in architecture, design, arts and crafts, conservation and restoration on an artistic and scientific basis and to the highest level, and to conduct artistic development work and on a scientific basis to carry out research in the fields of architecture, design, arts and crafts, conservation and restoration. Quote from Act on Change of Act on Institutions of Artistic Higher Education under the Ministry of Culture Three rectors heading day-to-day management The day-to-day management will be handled jointly by the three current rectors until a rector for the merged institution has been hired. “We look forward to the merger with great expectations.
