Kasper Schwartz

Lidt nyt fra de studerendes verden, her Kasper Schwartz fra Kolding Design Skole.

Vi har valgt at vise to af Kasper designs som udtrykker både originalitet og fint formsprog:

Wire reol:

Reolen er fra et møbelprojekt på Krabbesholm (forår 2008), hvor opgaven lød på at designe et møbel baseret på rundstål der efterfølgende skulle males hvidt. Jeg valgte at lave en vægophængt reol, der med sit asymetriske design skulle gøre op med den traditionelle reol og skabe opsigt gennem reolens spil med perspektiv, rytme og optisk bedrag.

Der er brugt rundstål i 10mm og hyldernes farver skal ikke nødvendigvis have den 80'er agtige betoning men ideen er mere at de blot varierer i farve.

Stolen:

Dette projekt er også fra mit ophold på Krabbesholm og det endte med at blive udstillet (som billeder) på Charlottenborgs Forårsudstilling i 2008. Projektet omhandlede stedspecifikke møbler/stole, og vi fik hver til opgave at udvælge en placering i Skive som stolen skulle indgå i. Jeg valgte nogle trapper ved pladsen foran Skive gamle rådhus og lavede derefter en stol (lounge stol), der præcis var udformet til disse trapper. Ideen var så at skabe en kontrast til de kantede og rå trappesten, ved at lave en stol med organiske og bløde former i et 'varmt' materiale, der kunne tilbyde en komfort man ellers ikke ville få hvis man fik lyst til at slå sig ned på trapperne og nyde solen.

Some news from the students' world, this time Kasper Schwartz from Kolding Design School.

We have chosen to show two of Kasper designs that express both originality and fine form language:

Wire shelves:

The bookcase is from a furniture project at Krabbesholm (spring 2008), where the task was to design a piece of furniture based on 10 mm round steel, which subsequently had to be painted white. I chose to make a wall mounted shelf, with its asymmetrical design would make up with the traditional rack and create a stir through its with perspective, rhythm and optical illusions.

I have used round steel in 10mm and shelf color need not necessarily have the '80s style accent but the idea is more that they just vary in color.

Chair:

This project is also from my stay at Krabbesholm and it ended up being exhibited (as images) on Charlottenborg's Spring Exhibition in 2008. The project was to provide site-specific furniture / chairs, and we were each given the task of selecting a location in the town of Skive which the chair should be in. I chose some stairs at the square in front of the Skive Old Town Hall and then made a chair (lounge chair), which exactly was designed to fit the stairs. The idea was to create a contrast to the edgy stone steps by making a chair with organic, soft shapes in a 'warm' material that could offer comfort you would not otherwise get if you wanted to sit on the stairs and enjoy the sun.
