An interesting conceptual couch called Beddo by Christina Liljeberg Halstrøm is being displayed at the exhibition

Designers Investigating in Øksnehallen (copenhagen).

Beddo is a couch in floor height. One must struggle to rest.

In the western world today, more and more people are having problems with back- and joint pain. One reason for this is that we do not move around enough and we have awkward postures when working. Jumping in to a big soft couch returning from work does not exactly help these problems.

Christina Liljeberg Halstrøm invites us down to floor level and by doing so creates an “active rest”. By moving down to the floor every time you sit, you get activate your whole body in a completely different way than when you sit in a traditional sofa.

"Beddo" is Japanese and means bed.

Christina has created a strong sculptural expression to her design and is a great example of the way young designers express themselves these days.
